Icouldn’t believe it was actually happening.

The night before, as I was in the drive-thru line attempting to satisfy an anxiety-induced chicken nugget craving, I almost called to cancel.

Now, here I was, staring out the window of the plane, about to take the longest flight I’d ever experienced in my forty-six years.

Six hours might not have seemed long to many frequent travelers, but to me, it meant I was flying from one corner of the country to the other — from Ft. Lauderdale to Seattle.

With only one days' notice.

I’d been browsing social media during a mental break from brainstorming for my next blog post (aka, procrastinating) when I saw a post from a friend/former roommate.

Day one of my cross-country adventures, was the caption to the photo of her obligatory airport selfie.

Not knowing this person to do much traveling, I excitedly commented.

What???! Where are you headed? Are you by yourself?

As I awaited her reply, a range of thoughts bounced through my mind on what it would be like to fly out to wherever she was and embark on our own version of…
